Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) is a national level online entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) every year. The exam is conducted to provide admission to candidates in MSc and other postgraduate courses offered in IITs and integrated PhD courses offered by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. Other institutes like the National Institutes of Technolgy (NITs), and other centrally funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs) also accept JAM scores for MSc admissions.
Eligibility
JAM 2021 eligibility criteria include:
- Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 55% aggregate score (50% for SSC/ST/PwD). It is said that the aggregate score should be considered excluding languages and subsidiaries.
- Candidates who have appeared, or going to appear for their graduation exam in 2021 are also eligible to apply.
Candidates who have passed the JAM 2021 exam will be eligible to apply for the admission process in various IITs in India.
JAM 2021 is conducted for seven subjects, Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), and Physics (PH). The IIT JAM exam pattern is a mixture of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), multiple section question (MSQs) and numerical answer type (NAT) questions.
